Kids' Day
Kids get ready for a day of fun & excitement at the BangPop 2009 Comic & Pop Culture Convention.
All day long, meet Maine comic book artist & writer Jay Piscopo. He will be offering free superhero sketches and the crew will hand out Capt’n Eli collectible card games and Seasearcher tattoos. Volumes 1 and 2 of The Undersea Adventures of Capt’n Eli all-ages graphic novel series will be on sale for a special convention price.
At Noon, join us for Styles, an interactive drawing workshop for kids with comic book creators Dave Roman and Raina Telgemeier. They will do some drawing to show that every artist's style is different, even when they're drawing the same thing. Suggestions from the audience will be needed. Everyone draws along with the panel and the kids get to take home the drawings they do afterward.
At 2pm join us for a special performance by local kids music phenomenon The Flannery Brothers. They will have plenty of copies of their great cd, Love Songs for Silly Things, available for sale.
Make sure you come to BangPop! in costume because Halloween comes early at BangPop! Immediately following The Flannery Brothers, there'll be a Kids Costume Parade with special prizes for the best costumes for kids ages 12 and under. So get out that Batman costume and bring your princess tiara, Sunday is all about you!
